Event Cancellation Statement
Humber Bridge Half Marathon and Family Fun Run – 28th June 2020
The Rotary Club of Hull, as the principal organisers of the Humber Bridge Half Marathon and Family Fun Run, have today announced that the event has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
While the event is 3 months away, the level of uncertainty regarding the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has led the Committee to make the difficult decision that cancellation is the only option. The event Committee, and the Rotary Club hopes you understand why we have made this decision.
This will obviously be disappointing for those runners who have already entered the race, as well as those who were intending to.
We’d like to thank our event partners Making a Difference Locally, The HEY Smile Foundation, Humber Bridge Board, LKR Events and all the other companies who were giving their support to this year’s event. Also, our thanks go to the communities of Hessle, Barton-upon-Humber and surrounding areas along with the volunteers who have supported the event over the years.
All runners who have already entered will be entitled to either a full refund or have the option of donating their entry fee to the Hull Foodbank (Registered Charity: 1144286). In due course, all entrants will be contacted to explain the administration process. Please can we ask for your patience at this time whilst we work on contacting all entrants.
The event has always had charitable fundraising at its heart and we hope that donations to the Hull Foodbank will go some way to providing support at this difficult time.
