The Humber Bridge Half Marathon was established by the Rotary Club of Hull and the first ever event was in 1999. Our 20th anniversary event in 2019 is a milestone we can’t wait to celebrate.
This prestigious race sees runners cross the iconic Humber Bridge, which is the longest single-span suspension bridge in the world that can be crossed by foot. In 2018 we attracted runners from all over the UK and abroad (Poland, Denmark, Austria, America, Puerto Rico and Australia!)
This event is ran entirely by a voluntary race committee and volunteers. We work incredibly close with the HEY Smile Foundation and the Rotary Club of Barton to bring this event to life. Since the beginning we have generated over £700,000 for charities and good causes, simply from entry fee surplus after all essential costs are paid for (e.g. medical support, licenses, insurance, etc.) This figure doesn’t take into account money raised for charities by runners’ fundraising.
